Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a delegation from France, including Minister for the Armed Forces and Veterans Alice Rufo and Minister for Equality between Women and Men and Combating Discrimination Aurore Bergé, noting that the visit comes at an important stage in the development of bilateral relations.
He stated that Armenia–France cooperation has reached an unprecedented high level and expressed confidence that it will further expand and strengthen in the near future.
The prime minister also highlighted the close dialogue established with Emmanuel Macron, emphasizing his role in efforts to establish peace. According to Pashinyan, it is necessary to continue deepening cooperation in various areas, including security, veterans’ issues, human rights protection, and the fight against discrimination and violence.
The French minister for the armed forces and veterans conveyed the warm greetings of the French president to the prime minister, noting that France will continue to support Armenia across all sectors, including advancing the peace agenda. Alice Rufo and Aurore Bergé expressed readiness to further develop cooperation with Armenian partners and share their experience in the mentioned fields.
During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on organizing high-level bilateral visits, holding the upcoming European Political Community summit in Armenia, and cooperation within the framework of the International Organization of La Francophonie.
French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to visit Armenia on a state visit in early May. On May 4, he will attend the European Political Community summit in Yerevan, followed by an official state visit the next day, during which a strategic partnership document is planned to be signed.
