Sinanyan attends Armenian Days in France

Armenia’s High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan took part in the Armenian Days cultural events during a working visit to France.

On April 24 in Avignon, he attended the closing ceremony of the conference titled “Memory, Heritage and Future: Rethinking, Creating and Passing on Armenia,” organized within the framework of the Armenian Days initiative. During the event, the High Commissioner delivered welcoming remarks, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in preserving Armenian identity, transmitting cultural values, and strengthening diaspora communities. Avignon Deputy Mayor Michel McManus-Shushanan also delivered a speech.

The speeches were followed by a reception, during which the High Commissioner interacted with community representatives, local authorities, and participants. Zareh Sinanyan thanked the Avignon municipality for its effective cooperation with the Armenian community, expressing confidence that it will continue to develop through new programs and initiatives.

On April 25, accompanied by the head of the Avignon Armenian Cultural House, Nelli Izoghs Margaryan, and members of the organization, Sinanyan visited the Armenian khachkar memorial in the city, where he laid a wreath and paid tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

On the same day, the High Commissioner also attended a concert by the Armenian music group “Nor Ashugh,” organized as part of the Armenian Days program. The event was attended by representatives of Armenian communities from Avignon and nearby areas, as well as French guests.
