Armenia’s Investigative Committee has launched public criminal prosecution against four members of a family for allegedly financially incentivizing individuals to participate in a rally organized by the Strong Armenia alliance.
According to the investigation conducted by the Shirak Regional Investigative Department, preliminary evidence suggests that A.Kh., M.Kh., N.Kh., and K.Kh. offered money to a group of people, including minors, to ensure large attendance at the rally held on April 11, 2026. Each participant was promised 10,000 drams for attending.
On the day of the rally, the family members organized transportation from the village of Pokr Mantash in the Artik community of Shirak Province to Yerevan using a rented taxi vehicle. After attending the rally organized by the Strong Armenia alliance, the participants returned to the village and received the promised payments.
Criminal charges have been brought against A.Kh., M.Kh., N.Kh., and K.Kh. under Part 2 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code (financial inducement to participate in a gathering).
A.Kh. has been placed under house arrest and a travel ban. M.Kh. and N.Kh. are under administrative supervision and a travel ban, while the minor K.Kh. has been placed under educational supervision.
The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
