Clergy discuss Armenian Church challenges in U.S.

The annual clergy conference of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church in the United States has begun, bringing together priests in a spirit of unity, reflection, and purpose.

“This year we are especially pleased to welcome two distinguished guests from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin — Zakaria Baghumyan and Movses Sargsyan, who helped facilitate meaningful discussions on the challenges and opportunities facing the Armenian Church,” the statement said, according to Aysor.am.

Led by Mesrop Parsamyan, Primate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America, the conference has provided an important platform for in-depth dialogue on the current life and direction of the diocese.

On February 14, it was reported that Armenia’s Prosecutor’s Office had initiated criminal proceedings against Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II over alleged failure to comply with a court ruling in a case involving the former head of the Masis Diocese, and had imposed a travel ban.
