Law enforcement officers have carried out searches at the Avan office of the Strong Armenia party, with several individuals taken into custody, party member Gohar Meloyan said, according to Aysor.am .
Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee stated that, within a criminal investigation into alleged cases of receiving election bribes and violating restrictions on charity, a group of individuals has been detained, reports 1lurer.am .
“Additional information will be provided later if necessary,” the Anti-Corruption Committee said.
Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Committee detained and charged Artur Avanesyan, head of the security team of the opposition Strong Armenia party and a participant in the Artsakh wars. He has been placed in pre-trial detention for two months. Three other citizens were also detained along with him. The committee had previously released an audio recording allegedly linked to the case.
