Macron to formalize strategic ties with Armenia

On the evening of May 3, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and French President Emmanuel Macron walked through central Yerevan, after which the French president shared a video on his Facebook page.

He stated that together with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan they would formalize a strategic partnership between their countries.

“Within the framework of the European Political Community, we will continue to build a more sovereign Europe. With my friend, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, we will formalize the strategic partnership between our countries,” he noted.

He also expressed gratitude for the warm reception.

Macron, responding to a journalist’s question, also said he would discuss with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev the issue of Armenian detainees held in Baku. He added that the topic would be addressed in detail during talks with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
