Ex-minister blames authorities for Artsakh loss

Seyran Ohanyan, head of the opposition Hayastan faction in parliament and former defense minister, said authorities are trying to place the main responsibility for the 44-day war solely on the army.

“Go up high or down low — today’s authorities are responsible for the fall of Artsakh,” Ohanyan stressed, according to Aysor.am .

According to Ohanyan, all branches of the government bear responsibility.

“The army, especially the Artsakh Defense Army, heroically carried out the task assigned to it for at least one continuous month, and the main problem was that military-political decisions failed to develop properly and close the breakthrough route through which the enemy managed to advance,” Ohanyan said.

In his assessment, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan should bear responsibility because he encouraged the path of retreat.
