RPA pledges support for opposition forces

The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) will devote all its potential and capabilities to ensuring the success of the collective opposition, I Have Honor faction lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan said while commenting on the launch of the election campaign.

“The RPA’s decision not to participate in the elections should be viewed in this context. The Republican Party will do its utmost. I assure you that on many issues today we are working with numerous opposition forces. Wherever our support is needed, in whichever region or community they believe the RPA can help through its words, presence or contribution to overall success, the party is assisting those forces,” he stressed, according to Panorama.am .

Abrahamyan also noted that 34 years ago these days marked the beginning of the victorious operation to liberate Shushi.

“It was a clear message from the Armenian people to the world that Armenians are neither cowardly nor doomed to defeat, and under the leadership of devoted figures Armenians have always prevailed,” he said.

According to him, despite attempts by the current authorities to convince society that Armenians have no chance of victory and that their policy of concessions and defeatism stems from that belief, many episodes in Armenian history have demonstrated the people’s spirit of resistance and determination to live in their homeland and fight for their freedom.

The election campaign that began on May 8 will continue until June 5. June 6 will be observed as a day of silence, while elections will take place on June 7.
