Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee said operational and investigative measures had uncovered factual evidence that the head of an office of the Mer Dzevov NGO for the preservation of national values provided election bribes to several eligible voters during parliamentary elections in exchange for voting for the Strong Armenia party.
According to the committee, the same individual also provided money free of charge to a Yerevan resident eligible to vote for the purpose of surgery under the guise of charity, from the date the parliamentary elections were officially called until the results are finalized.
A criminal case has been launched in connection with the incident at the Anti-Corruption Committee. Several individuals have been detained, searches have been conducted, and other procedural actions have been carried out.
The election campaign that began on May 8 will continue until June 5. June 6 will be a day of silence, while elections are scheduled for June 7.
