The Hayastan alliance has issued a statement saying that a planned meeting between alliance members and residents of Talin was canceled because of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s visit.
According to the alliance, the incident is “another clear manifestation of abuse of administrative resources.”
“A meeting between members of the Hayastan alliance and residents of Talin was scheduled for today. However, the Talin municipality informed us that due to Nikol Pashinyan’s visit today, it would not be able to provide the previously agreed venue for our meeting with citizens at the scheduled time. We state that this is another obvious example of abuse of administrative resources.
Since our goal is to organize a proper and dignified meeting for hundreds of citizens, and the specified venue is the most suitable place for such an event, we inform you that we do not accept the artificial restrictions being imposed on us,” the statement said.
The alliance added that the planned meeting in Talin will take place in the coming days. Information about the date and location will be announced later.
The election campaign that began on May 8 will continue until June 5. June 6 will be a day of silence, while elections are scheduled for June 7.
