Washington welcomes the removal of trade restrictions between Armenia and Turkey, the U.S. Embassy in Armenia said.
“The United States welcomes the announcement on lifting restrictions on bilateral trade between Armenia and Turkey. This step demonstrates the two countries’ commitment to expanding economic ties and promoting lasting peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus region.
Armenia’s and Turkey’s continued efforts to strengthen cooperation for the benefit of the region’s peoples are commendable,” the statement said.
Turkey has lifted the ban on conducting bilateral trade with Armenia. Armenia’s Foreign Ministry welcomed Turkey’s removal of the bans on conducting bilateral trade with Armenia. From now on, it will be possible to list “Armenia/Turkey” as the final destination or point of origin for goods sent from Armenia to a third country and then to Turkey, or coming from Turkey to Armenia along the same route.
