Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has denied claims circulated by representatives of the Strong Armenia alliance that, if the current authorities are reelected in the upcoming parliamentary elections, 300,000 Azerbaijanis will come to live in Armenia.
Pashinyan, who is currently on leave to participate in the election campaign, made the remarks during a meeting with residents of the Parakar community in Armavir Province, Armenpress reported.
“The three-headed war party (editor’s note: referring to the Strong Armenia alliance, the Hayastan alliance and the Prosperous Armenia party) has now invented another lie, claiming that if the Civil Contract party wins the elections and Pashinyan is reelected prime minister, 300,000 Azerbaijanis will return to Armenia. In our agenda regarding relations with Azerbaijan, and in our international agenda in general, such an issue has never existed. These people are spending millions of dollars today to create and import such an agenda into Armenia’s political life. Only foreign spies operate this way,” Pashinyan said.
Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the Strong Armenia alliance, along with other representatives of the political force, has repeatedly claimed that if the current authorities are reelected, 300,000 Azerbaijanis will settle in Armenia.
