Former Artsakh Human Rights Defender and former state minister Artak Beglaryan commented on the video circulating online in which threats against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan are voiced in the Artsakh dialect, describing it as “a staged production organized by the authorities.”
“Today’s video containing terrorist content is certainly a staged production organized by the authorities so that Pashinyan can secure a new dose of hatred and repression against Artsakh Armenians and opposition figures. And the prompt and hate-filled reactions of Pashinyan and his group did not take long to appear.
I am convinced that this terrorist provocation will not be solved, while members of the Civil Contract party will use this video during the election campaign as a ‘banner’ to portray Pashinyan as a victim, play on people’s fears and additionally target Artsakh Armenians,” Beglaryan wrote.
Armenia’s Investigative Committee earlier stated that a video containing a real threat of murder against the prime minister, linked to his political and state activities and motivated by political views, had been circulated online. A criminal case has been launched against a group of individuals in connection with the incident.
