Fifty candidates on the electoral list of the Against Everyone People’s Party have withdrawn their candidacies, according to the official website of Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission.
The party’s electoral list originally included 87 candidates, with 37 now remaining.
The party’s campaign has drawn attention for its unusual public actions, including symbolic performances such as “beating water,” “throwing mud,” and “kicking a mouse.” Party members have also distributed tan and matsun against what they described as the “poison of hatred.”
The election campaign, which began on May 8, will continue until June 5. June 6 will be observed as a day of silence, and the elections will take place on June 7.
