Member of parliament Gegham Manukyan commented on the actions of Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) and Investigative Committee in a Facebook post, calling them “the result of a political order.”
“How much must one hate the State, the state system, the reputation and authority of state and security institutions, the honor of an officer’s epaulettes, to give the NSS a delusional political order and receive such a composition in return.
How subservient must one be to spit on one’s epaulettes — even newly and undeservedly obtained ones — on the reputation of one’s institution and subordinate officers, and turn boss Nikol’s instruction into an assignment or order.
Moreover, how dishonorable must one be to trample on the reputation of one’s epaulettes and officer rank and write nonsense, presenting it as operational information and turning it into a report.
No greater flight of thought could be expected from the obedient NSS hunting devils.
I will not even comment on the Investigative Committee below them; they have long since hit bottom.
I write this as a member of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Defense and Security,” the post said.
The Investigative Committee has launched criminal proceedings against Andranik Tevanyan on charges of treason and espionage.
During a rally in Vanadzor on May 20, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the National Security Service would send a report on an alleged crime to the Investigative Committee seeking criminal proceedings against Tevanyan. Andranik Tevanyan is No. 2 on the Prosperous Armenia party’s electoral list.
Commenting on the Investigative Committee’s accusations that he passed secret information from a closed parliamentary session to another country, Tevanyan said in a Facebook livestream that he was no longer an MP in 2024 and therefore could not have attended the closed session, adding that “the remaining claims are absurd.”
