Anti-corruption body alleges vote buying in Tavush

As a result of measures carried out by officers of Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee, factual data was obtained indicating that representatives of the Prosperous Armenia party gave election bribes to several voters in Tavush province in exchange for voting in favor of their party in the National Assembly elections and recruiting supporters.

A criminal proceeding was launched at the Anti-Corruption Committee over the incident, and several individuals were detained. Investigative actions were carried out.

A video was released containing intercepted phone conversations.

The election campaign, which began on May 8, will continue until June 5. June 6 will be observed as a day of silence, while elections will be held on June 7.
