Former Artsakh president’s phone seized

Lawyer Roman Yeritsyan said on his Facebook page that the phone of former Artsakh President Samvel Shahramanyan had been confiscated.

He noted that, according to the Military Investigative Department, the interest concerns events related to the September 24, 2023, explosion at a fuel depot, although the phone itself was manufactured in 2025.

“A notice has been sent demanding the release of the 60-square-meter service apartment allocated in 2008 to former Artsakh military commissar (1999–2011), former head of the Defense Army combat readiness department (1993–1998), member of Armenia’s Defense Ministry military council, former Artsakh environment minister (2018–2023), former head of Artsakh’s Civil Defense Service (2013–2018), adviser to the Artsakh president, colonel since 1998, first-convocation deputy of the Artsakh National Assembly, and a major contributor to state formation, Felix Gabrielyan, holder of the first-degree ‘Combat Cross’ order, who lost both his father and brother in the first war, citing that ‘the apartment was allocated unlawfully,’” he wrote.

The lawyer said the apartment in question is the only residence in Armenia for Felix Gabrielyan and his family members.

“On May 22, 2026, a ruling was supposed to be published regarding the prosecutor’s lawsuit seeking confiscation of the representation building belonging to the Republic of Artsakh at 17/2 Nairi Zaryan Street in Yerevan. However, the ruling has still not been published,” he added.
