Tsarukyan promises amnesty if elected

Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, said that a nationwide amnesty would be declared in Armenia if the party comes to power.

Speaking during campaign meetings in Armavir, Tsarukyan also stated that healthcare and education in Armenia would be made free of charge, according to Aysor.am .

“There should be an amnesty. Prisons are overcrowded, there is no space left. A person may have made a mistake once, but it is wrong to keep everyone in detention. There must be an amnesty,” he said.

The election campaign that began on May 8 will continue until June 5. June 6 will be observed as a day of silence, while elections will take place on June 7.
