Independent Observer alliance is preparing to submit a criminal complaint based on allegations of the apparent illegal financing of the Wings of Unity party with 926 million drams, activist Daniel Ioannisyan wrote on Facebook.
“Based on the publication regarding the apparent illegal financing of the Wings of Unity party with 926 million drams, the Independent Observer alliance is filing a crime report.
The investigation indicates that the support was allegedly provided through the EISI institute operating under the supervision of Sergey Kiriyenko, deputy head of the Russian presidential administration.
The publication by the Dossier Center contains apparent elements of crimes under Articles 231 and 232 of Armenia’s Criminal Code concerning the Wings of Unity party.
The information published by the Dossier Center regarding the estimated financing and transfers connected to Arman Tatoyan appears credible, because it logically explains the origin of the enormous sums spent on the PR campaign for Tatoyan and the Wings of Unity brand, which had been kept hidden.
Two weeks ago, we had already uncovered that enormous amounts were spent on PR for the former ombudsman and the Wings of Unity brand, while cleverly circumventing political party financial transparency regulations. We also revealed that lease agreements for all nearly 30 Wings of Unity offices had not been properly registered.
The Dossier Center has now published materials fully explaining all of this. According to the center’s publication, 322 million drams out of the 926 million allegedly spent on Tatoyan’s PR campaign over five months were used for those offices,” the statement said.
Dossier Center earlier published an investigation into alleged Russian interference in Armenia’s parliamentary elections, according to which Tatoyan is being considered as a backup candidate.
