U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Armenia with his wife, Jeanette Rubio. They were welcomed at Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and his wife, Gohar Abajyan.
The Armenian foreign minister and the U.S. secretary of state are set to hold talks, after which they will sign a memorandum of understanding. Neither the Armenian nor the American side has yet disclosed the contents of the document to be signed.
Following the signing ceremony, Ararat Mirzoyan and Marco Rubio will make statements to the press.
A closed-door meeting involving Armenian and American officials has now begun.
