Against Everyone party unveils symbolic political statue

The Against Everyone party, which has applied to participate in Armenia’s parliamentary elections, installed a 500-kilogram “people’s annoyance” statue near the Public Radio building.

“Our campaign aims to show how real political processes take place in Armenia. There is no joke in what we are doing. It is completely serious,” party representatives said, according to Sputnik Armenia.

They urged police to monitor the site and treat any attempt to move or damage the statue as hooliganism.

“From today onward, it should be impossible for them to keep exhausting all of our patience, and the best way to achieve that is to vote for us,” the representatives said.

The party’s candidate for prime minister, Nina Karapetyants, said the weight of the statue symbolizes how much the current authorities have exhausted public patience.

“This is the heavy, disgusting burden of frustration that has become unbearable for society. We want to tell society that this will be the last ‘annoyance’ they take away. Even if they come and remove it, this will be the last thing they take away. Since they have exhausted our patience using the state budget, let them take this annoyance away too,” Karapetyants said.

The Against Everyone party has been conducting an unconventional election campaign, organizing actions described as “beating water,” “throwing mud,” “kicking mice,” “rolling barrels,” and “putting things in place.”

The election campaign that began on May 8 will continue until June 5. June 6 will be a day of silence, and elections will take place on June 7. On May 25, it became known that the Alliance Progressive Centrist Party had submitted a withdrawal request, after which the Central Electoral Commission invalidated the registration of the party’s electoral list. Ballot paper number 13 will not appear in the upcoming elections.
