On the 19th day of the election campaign, Nikol Pashinyan, during a meeting with residents of Dzoraghbyur in Kotayk Province, asked voters for a mandate to “send to prison” Strong Armenia prime ministerial candidate Samvel Karapetyan, Hayastan alliance candidate Robert Kocharyan, and Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarukyan, Factor.am reported.
“I say that all of you are finished. The Kaluga oligarch, Robert Kocharyan, that Belarusian guy must go to prison. Give me that mandate. They must spend decades in prison, and I want a mandate from you to carry out that plan. And I tell you, they are the ones who wanted to hand over Meghri. I secured Armenia’s territorial integrity and Meghri and Syunik are an inseparable part of the eternal Republic of Armenia. That is what this election is about,” he said.
Pashinyan also separately addressed Samvel Karapetyan during his speech, leveling accusations against him.
“Kaluga man, you will spend decades in prison. You will spend decades in prison as a spy acting against the Armenian state. And also for stealing electricity from kindergartens, schools and military units, and your criminal group, your gang, will end up in prison. And this is the first thing for which I ask the people for a mandate,” Pashinyan said.
The election campaign that began on May 8 will continue until June 5. June 6 will be a day of silence, and elections will take place on June 7. On May 25, it became known that the Alliance Progressive Centrist Party had submitted a withdrawal request, after which the Central Electoral Commission invalidated the registration of the party’s electoral list. Ballot paper number 13 will not appear in the upcoming elections.
