Strong Armenia rejects alliance vote transfers

Strong Armenia party leader Samvel Karapetyan said his political force does not intend to transfer its votes to any other party.

Karapetyan made the remarks during a meeting with residents of Shirak Province, held in the courtyard of his residence because he is under house arrest and unable to campaign elsewhere.

“We are going to win and form a government. But the people of Gyumri must also understand that if they want us to form the government, they must make the only correct choice on June 7,” Karapetyan said.

He added that his party is aiming for an outright victory and is “very close” to achieving it.

The election campaign, which began on May 8, will continue until June 5. June 6 will be observed as a day of silence, while voting will take place on June 7. On May 25, the Alliance Progressive Centrist Party announced its withdrawal from the race, after which the Central Electoral Commission invalidated the registration of the party’s electoral list. Ballot number 13 will therefore not appear in the upcoming elections.
