The leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) have adopted a statement concerning Armenia, according to Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
The meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council was held in Astana in both restricted and expanded formats. Participants included EAEU member states Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia, as well as observer states Uzbekistan, Cuba, and Iran.
“A statement by four leaders was adopted there,” Ushakov told reporters, according to RIA Novosti.
He added that the text of the statement will be published later.
During the restricted-format session, participants discussed Armenia’s intention to join the European Union.
