Searches are being conducted at the Abovyan and Artik offices of the Prosperous Armenia party as part of investigations into alleged vote-buying and vote-selling schemes, the Anti-Corruption Committee said, according to Radar Armenia.
The committee stated that seven individuals have been detained within the framework of two criminal proceedings launched over alleged election bribery offenses.
“Seven individuals have been detained today in connection with two criminal proceedings initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee regarding cases of giving and receiving election bribes. Procedural actions are ongoing. Additional information will be provided if necessary,” the committee said.
The election campaign, which began on May 8, will continue until June 5. June 6 will be a day of silence, and voting will take place on June 7.
