Hayk Marutyan, the prime ministerial candidate of the New Force party, stated that both Baku and members of the Eurasian Economic Union are demanding actions from Armenia, describing this as evidence of the current government's approach to sovereignty.
Presenting what he described as the results of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s eight years in power, Marutyan made the following remarks:
“1. Azerbaijan is demanding that Armenia hold a referendum to amend the Constitution.
2. Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia are demanding that Armenia hold a referendum so that we decide our future within the Eurasian Economic Union or the European Union.
This is what ‘sovereign governance’ looks like…”
The election campaign that began on May 8 will continue until June 5. June 6 will be a day of silence, while voting will take place on June 7. On May 25, it became known that the Alliance Progressive Centrist Party had submitted a withdrawal request, after which the Central Electoral Commission annulled the registration of the party’s electoral list. As a result, ballot paper number 13 will not appear in the upcoming elections.
