Arman Tatoyan, who heads the electoral list of the Wings of Unity alliance, has said that if the political force comes to power, it will make the issue of the occupation of Armenia’s sovereign territories the top priority in negotiations with Azerbaijan. He made the statement during a campaign meeting in Kapan.
He was referring to territories that, according to the party’s position, were occupied by Azerbaijan during various attacks carried out in 2021 and 2022, Factor.am reported.
Tatoyan added that, unlike other political forces participating in the election campaign, Wings of Unity presents citizens with concrete solutions.
“My dear people, everything will be fine, and we will be able to solve these issues. Even before coming to power, we have already brought the problems of Syunik villages to the United Nations. I am filling the international agenda with these issues. During my premiership, this will become an integral part of diplomacy,” Tatoyan said.
The election campaign, which began on May 8, will continue until June 5. June 6 will be a day of silence, and voting will take place on June 7. On May 25, it became known that the Alliance Progressive Centrist Party had submitted a request to withdraw from the election, after which the Central Electoral Commission invalidated the registration of the party’s electoral list. As a result, there will be no ballot paper numbered 13 in the upcoming elections.
