Armenia’s Cyber Police has called on citizens not to respond to messages sent via the iMessage platform from numbers using the +63, +212 or other international dialing codes that claim to represent the Ministry of Internal Affairs or other state institutions.
The agency explained that such messages contain phishing links that imitate official government websites and are used by fraudsters to obtain personal or banking information.
According to the statement, these messages often direct users to websites that closely resemble official state portals in an attempt to deceive recipients into providing sensitive data.
“Remember that the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is http://roadpolice.am . Any website attempting to imitate this address (for example, roadpolice.icu) is fraudulent and has no connection to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
If you receive such a message:
- Do not open any links contained in the message.
- Verify information only through official sources.
- Do not provide any personal or banking details.
- Immediately block the sender’s phone number and mark it as Spam/Junk,” the statement said.
