Levon Julfalakyan happy with Armenian wrestlers’ result at Grand Prix

Chief Coach of the Armenian Greco-Roman wrestling team, Olympic Games champion Levon Julfalakyan said that Armenian wrestlers participated successfully in the Grand Prix in Slovenia.

Four basic members of the Armenian team won medals at the tournament, Julfalakyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

Olympic Games bronze winner, World Championship silver winner and European Champion Roman Amoyan (55kg) won gold medal and became the best wrestler of the tournament.

Arthur Shahinyan (84kg) is also among the tournament winners.

“Amoyan is among Armenia’s experienced sportsmen and displayed his best qualities at the tournament. The result of Vahan Juharyan (66kg), who won bronze, was good as well,” noted Julfalakyan.

European champion and World Championship silver winner Arsen Julfalakyan (74kg) also won bronze. According to the Chief Coach, Julfalakyan did not manage to qualify for the finals due to judges’ mistake.

“From February 27, the Armenian Greco-Roman wrestling team will be getting prepared for the European Championships in Dortmund. Our team will be represented by its basic members, and we will try to win as many medals as possible,” concluded Levon Julfalakyn.

Dortmund (Germany) will host the European Championships from March 29 to April 3.
